Company website and SEO

In September I took over the company website as well. New landing pages for partner programmes and ads, lighter pages, better search visibility, and every lead form now goes straight into NetSuite with its source attached.

  • Next.js
  • TypeScript
  • Structured data
  • End to end tests

What I took on

In September the company website became mine as well, front end and back end. It is a static Next.js site served from a CDN, so it is fast and cheap to run, and every form on it is a way for a customer to reach the company.

  2. The websitestatic Next.js on a CDN
  3. Checked firstbot check, one time token

Uploads go straight from the browser to storage through a short lived link, and are cleared after a week.

Where a form goes

A submission is checked before anything else happens: a bot check, a one time token, the fields validated, and a limit on how often one address can send. It then goes into a queue rather than straight to the ERP, so a slow or busy NetSuite never loses a lead. A worker picks it up, checks it is not a duplicate, creates the lead with the page and programme it came from, attaches any uploaded file, emails the team and the customer, texts the customer, and tells Slack.

Lighter and easier to find

Landing pages for utility programmes and for ad campaigns on Google and ChatGPT. The ad pages follow one plan: the trust line and both calls to action above the fold, then reviews, how it works, guarantees and financing.

Speed is part of search, so the tag manager now loads after the page has finished, and I checked that ad conversions still fire. The homepage video plays on the page instead of sending people to YouTube, and nothing of it downloads until someone presses play. Images on the key pages are under 200 KB, with their own mobile versions.

Each week I work through the SEO list from an outside agency: internal links on the exact phrases they ask for, and FAQ and product schema kept true to what is on the page.

Systems inside it

  1. Landing pages for utility programmes, Google Ads and ChatGPT ads
  2. Leads from the site straight into NetSuite
  3. Tracking that loads after the page, conversions still counted
  4. Images re-encoded, pages made lighter
  5. Structured data and SEO across every service
Described at the level of the work, never the data. No code, records or customer details from this system appear on this site. A walkthrough is available on request.
